Edward Caswell is a versatile and internationally respected choral conductor, singer, teacher and writer. Since 2004 he has worked with professional choirs, student choirs and amateur choirs throughout Europe, particularly in The Netherlands, Belgium, France and Germany. In 2017 he published his first book: It’s always a Pussycat: a singer’s approach to choral conducting, translations into French and Dutch followed, and in 2024 he collaborated with Peter Hunt to produce SingCircle a collection of 111 rounds and canons, the latest volume in Oxford University Press’s VOICEWORKS series.    
 
A regular chorus master with Collegium Vocale Gent, Edward has prepared them for tours and recordings of major works including Beethoven’s Missa Solemnis, Elgar’s The Dream of Gerontius and Britten’s War Requiem. Since 2017 Edward has been a regular guest chorus master at Radio France, and has also enjoyed long associations with Netherlands Radio Choir and MDR Rundfunkchor Leipzig. Edward collaborates regularly with Trevor Pinnock and has prepared choruses for him for major choral works including Messiah, Haydn’s Die Jahreszeiten, Bach's Matthäus-Passion, Weihnachts-Oratorium and Messe in h-mollfor productions in Amsterdam, Paris, London, Leipzig and Freiburg.
 
Edward works regularly with Dudok Choir and Orchestra in The Netherlands. Since 2016 he has led them in Bach’s Messe in h-moll, Weihnachts-Oratorium, Matthäus-Passion, Wachet auf and Handel’s Dixit Dominus, Mozart’s Requiem, and a programme of Bach Cantatas for Advent in December 2025.
